"IS MY TEEN SPIRIT THE NIRVANA ?"

There comes a point in everyone's journey- somewhere between heartache and healing, rebellion, and reason- where we began to wonder if the fire inside of us is a beacon or bomb. That restless, hungry energy we carried in our younger days- the one that pulsed beneath our skin like an electric current-"where did it go?" Or more hauntingly, is it still there, waiting to be reclaimed?

"Teen Spirit" is often romanticized as chaotic freedom: loud music, wild dreams, recklessness coated in sweat. But beneath the noise, there was also purity. Not the kind wrapped in perfection or obedience, but the kind that was untouched by jadedness. It was the belief that we could change the world- or at least our small corners of it. That love was worth writing poems about. That we didn't have to settle. That we were the revolution.

Then adulthood crept in, like fog swallowing the skyline.

We traded spontaneity for strategy. Chose stability over soul. Learned to silence the scream in our throats with small talk and grocery lists. But every now and then, that spark flares up again- when a certain song plays, when we smell rain on concrete, when we feel fully alive and realize we miss that version of ourselves.

So we ask :

"Is my teen spirit the nirvana?". Is that wild, yearning part of me the key to true peace? Or just a relic from a past I've outgrown?

The answer is both.

Your teen spirit- the raw, unfiltered part of you- isn't meant to rule your every decision anymore. But it's also not meant to be buried. It's your compass. Your creative pulse. Your reminder that before the world told you who to be, you were. Before you learned what was "possible", you dreamed without limits. That is nirvana-not perfection or escape, but truth. Living from a place of honesty, courage, and passion, even if it's messy.

So maybe the real question is:

Are you ready to let your spirit lead again- not like a runaway train, but like a torch through the dark?

Light it up
You're not too late. You're just on time.

yours truly,

the butterfly🦋
